About Us
The British Spanish Club has arrived as a meeting point for the British and Spanish to promote friendship and understanding.
The Club welcomes cooperation with all British Latin American associations in London for social and cultural events.
If you are a British expat living in Spain or Latin America you are most welcome to join us during your stopover here in London. Many of our members have work and travel experiences in Spain and Latin America. If you are an author or teacher or have specialist knowledge we would like to hear from you. You might like to be one of our guest speakers?
The Club is based in the capital and organises lectures, book launches, art gallery and museum visits and music recitals. At weekends we are planning two hour morning guided walks with qualified Blue Badge guides exploring landmarks in the City and the West End and lesser known areas such as Chelsea and Notting Hill.
Our regular two hour after-work social events in the City, Soho or Mayfair are a perfect opportunity to practise English with fluent speakers and for us British to hablar español.

The objectives of the
British Spanish Club
To advance the understanding of the Spanish speaking people in Iberia and the Americas, their language, history,
literature, institutions, folklore and culture and encourage conversation in English & Spanish,
To achieve the above the Club will organise social and cultural events often with the enjoyment of food and wines and music from Spain and Latin America
To increase members’ understanding of Britain its language, history, culture, literature and institutions through weekly walking tours in and around London with professional guide-lecturers

Who are our Members?
Those interested in Spanish language and culture wishing to practise their español and castellaño and Spanish speakers to practise English. Meetings will be held in central London and are broadly cultural or social. The community comprises professionals from international organisations, entrepreneurs, business owners, teachers, , civil servants and community workers. We welcome writers, painters, designers, print-makers, dressmakers, tailors, illustrators, musicians, brewers, trainers, actors , chefs, sales personnel and students. So opportunities for all to network socialise and make friends.

There is nothing worse than missing out on a guided tour or discovering a new venue so diary planning is essential and booking in advance to guarantee a place.Each event has a fee to cover our admin and running expenses usually £12. Our expenses include research and negotiating discounted rates for drinks and food and use of premises, locating speakers and paying their expenses or advanced fees. We kindly ask you to book in advance with payment on line. There is a one-off payment of £5 for membership to add to your first booked event.
